Where to start: a simple daily routine

If you're new to a proper skincare routine, it can feel like there are a hundred steps and a hundred rules. There aren't. Truly good skincare is simple, and consistency matters far more than complication.

Here's the little routine I'd start anyone with.

Morning

  • Cleanse – a gentle wash to freshen your skin for the day.
  • Tone – a few sweeps of toner to balance and calm.
  • Nourish – a couple of drops of serum to feed your skin.
  • Moisturise – to keep everything soft and protected.

Evening

  • Cleanse – the most important step of the day. Melt away make-up and the day's grime with an oil cleanser or hot cloth cleanser, lifted away with a warm cloth.
  • Tone, then nourish – and let your serum work its magic while you sleep.

A few gentle truths: give any new routine a good two to three weeks before you judge it — skin takes time. Drink plenty of water. And be kind to yourself; a simple routine you actually keep up beats a ten-step one you abandon by Friday.

Not sure which products suit your skin? Take my quick Find Your Routine quiz, or drop me an email any time — I'm always happy to help.
