Looking after teenage skin — gently

Teenage skin is going through an awful lot, and the last thing it needs is to be stripped and scrubbed within an inch of its life. When it comes to young skin, gentle almost always wins.

Breakouts happen when oil, dead skin and bacteria block the pores — and harsh products can actually make things worse, sending the skin into overdrive to replace the oils you've stripped away. The kinder approach is a simple, natural routine that keeps skin clean and balanced without the drama.

A simple teenage routine

  • Cleanse gently, morning and night.
  • Tone with a naturally clarifying tea tree toner to calm and refresh.
  • Spot-treat only where you need it — a dab of tea tree on the spot itself, not all over.
  • Moisturise with something light. Yes, even oily and blemish-prone skin needs moisture.

A few little tips I always share: stick with it for a couple of weeks before expecting change, drink plenty of water, and try not to pick (I know, I know!). Building gentle habits now sets skin up beautifully for years to come.

If you'd like a hand putting a routine together for your teen, just send me an email — I'm always happy to help.
